On Saturday, May 5 in downtown Kannapolis, more than 45 of Cabarrus County’s young racing talent competed in the second annual Zucchini 600. With ingenuity and imagination put to the test, youngsters constructed workable, rolling vehicles out of zucchini for a matchup of the fastest, most creative and most nutritious zucchinis.
The competition consisted of two age groups – nine and under and 10 to 14. Winners received a medal and two tickets to the Monster Energy All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
