CIRCLE K AND KANGAROO SPEED STREET PRESENTED BY COCA-COLA WINDS DOWN WITH POSITIVE REVIEWS

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 26, 2016) – The 22nd Annual Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola wound down Saturday night and the overwhelming response from all involved was positive.

Huge crowds meandered along the several blocks of Tryon Street taking advantage of interactive displays, autograph sessions, show cars, NASCAR celebrity appearances, product sampling and vendors all three days of the event.

Crowds also flocked to see the biggest two nights of music in the recent history of Circle K and Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola. Nashville hit maker Chris Young and country icons Montgomery Gentry played to a packed crowd from the Coca-Cola Stage on Friday night. An equally large crowd jammed into the Coca-Cola Stage area Saturday for performances by country rockers The Band Perry and North Carolina’s own Kellie Pickler.

“It has been another incredible Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola,” said Jay Howard, promoter and producer of the festival. “We’ve had such huge crowds. We’re so happy families can come out and enjoy themselves.

“We’re also very pleased with the positive reaction to our ticketed concerts. The crowds both nights were amazing. Fans asked for better entertainment and in the end, they felt it was worth $15.”

The title sponsor of the event, Circle K and Kangaroo Express, was also excited by what they witnessed during the event’s three-day run.

“Circle K and Kangaroo Express is very proud of the events that took place at Speed Street this year,” said Tom Harman, marketing director for Circle K and Kangaroo Express. “We understand this event means a lot to Charlotte and the surrounding communities.

“We are also very proud of our employees who help make this event possible. Our partnership in Speed Street will continue next year with the continued support of our employees and vendors.”

It was estimated that more than 200,000 people attended the event.

Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola was the final of five family-friendly events the 600 Festival™ Association presented in the month of May. The events included Movies on the Campus in conjunction with Jiggy with the Piggy in Kannapolis; Haulers on Union in Concord; ENEOS Little 600 at GoPro Motorplex in Mooresville and the PNC Speed Street 5K and Kids 600 Yard Fun.
